IMPORTANT

Using an iOS or Android device: download the BlackVue App to use FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) to conveniently update your device without taking out the microSD card.

  1. Please backup all necessary files before formatting the microSD card, since all your videos will be erased in the process.
  2. Please ensure you follow the specific formatting requirements for your device series before copying the firmware (FW) files to your SD card

    – ELITE Series

       * The SD card must be formatted to exFAT or FAT32 before copying the FW file.
       * Note: When formatting an SD card in Windows, you typically only have the option to choose between NTFS and exFAT.
In this case, you must select exFAT. (Formatting to FAT32 requires a separate third-party program).

    – DR Series

       * The SD card must be formatted to FAT32 before copying the FW file.
       * Note: Since Windows native formatting usually only supports NTFS and exFAT for high-capacity cards, you must use the BlackVue Viewer or
a dedicated third-party formatting tool to format the card to FAT32.

  1. After the firmware upgrade, please use the latest version of the BlackVue Viewer and/or App.
