A Routine Drive Turns Into an Unexpected Accident
This latest submission comes from a longtime BlackVue user who preferred to stay anonymous. Here’s what he wrote:
“A recent accident happened to me and was caught on my BlackVue camera. The driver in front of me neither signaled nor checked the blind spot and swiped my driver seat door. With the camera footage, there is no argument on who is responsible for the damages.”
What the Footage Revealed
After reviewing the footage, we can see what really happened.
The incident took place on a three-lane road with moderate traffic. The submitter was driving in the center lane, right behind another car that had come to a near stop. Seeing traffic move more smoothly on the right lane, our user decided to pass.
That’s when things went wrong.
The driver ahead activated their right-turn signal but failed to check their blind spot, moving directly into the BlackVue user’s lane. The moment of impact isn’t visible in the footage, yet the car’s sudden shake and the sharp sound of collision captured by the BlackVue’s built-in microphone leave no doubt about what occurred.

It’s a familiar scenario: a driver assumes that turning on a signal immediately grants the right of way. Unfortunately, this kind of overconfidence leads to countless accidents every year.

The Aftermath and Repair
Later, the user shared an additional clip showing him pulling over to a nearby parking lot, along with two photos of the damage to his Mercedes-Benz.
He added:
