Dear BlackVue Users,
The DR970X Plus, DR970X LTE Plus and DR770X just received updates.
These introduce faster booting, 1TB microSD card support*, HDR for the DR970X Plus and DR970X LTE Plus models, and external GPS support for DR970X Plus and DR770X models.

Note about Series II: the recently launched Series II models share the same firmware with the original DR970X Plus, DR970X LTE Plus and DR770X models.

(*) 1TB BlackVue microSD cards should be available for sale starting from August 2025.

What’s New:

1. Enhanced recording start-up speed after dash cam is powered on.
2. Support for 1TB microSD cards.
3. External GPS Support Added.
   – Compatible GPS modules from BlackVue: CM100GLTE, G1-E(U), GPS-1, GNSS-USB1
   – Supported Models : DR770X , DR970X Plus
   Note: these dash cams include a built-in GPS but we added external GPS compatibility for users who would like to use an external GPS, which allows for optimal placement. When the external GPS is plugged in, the dash cam will be automatically switch to using it.
4. HDR (High Dynamic Range) Enabled.
   – Supported Models : DR970X Plus , DR970X LTE Plus
   – Default video quality : ‘Highest’ (note: this is the new default, for customers who purchase a new dash cam. When upgrading, the video quality settings will stay unchanged).

Important:

Make sure to use the latest versions of the BlackVue Viewer and App for full compatibility when installing a new firmware version.

How to upgrade:

With the BlackVue App, you can easily update the firmware from the Camera menu. Tap the three-dot icon “…” next to your camera’s name, then tap on “Remote firmware update”.

For a manual installation, go to the DOWNLOADS page to access the latest firmware and installation instructions.
