FLEETA Is Opening Up: Introducing the FLEETA API and MCP Integration

At IAA 2026 in Hannover, one question came up again and again at the FLEETA booth:

How can I connect FLEETA with the tools my business already uses?

For some teams, that means integrating FLEETA data into an existing fleet management platform. For others, it means connecting fleet data with AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or development tools like Cursor.

Now, there’s an answer.

On September 21, FLEETA released two new ways to connect with the platform: the FLEETA API and MCP integration.

Together, they make FLEETA data easier to access, integrate, and use wherever your team already works.

1. Build FLEETA Into Your Own Software With the FLEETA API

The new FLEETA API is designed for developers who want to connect FLEETA with software they’ve already built.

Instead of requiring your team to work exclusively inside the FLEETA platform, the API makes it possible to retrieve FLEETA data and use it inside your own applications.

That could mean displaying FLEETA information within an existing fleet management platform, combining fleet data with other internal systems, or building completely new workflows around the data available in FLEETA.

The API includes both a REST API and webhooks.

With the REST API, developers can retrieve data from FLEETA and decide how it should be displayed or used within their own software.

This gives development teams much more flexibility to build FLEETA into the systems their organizations already depend on.

Real-time updates with webhooks

Webhooks provide another important piece of the integration.

Instead of repeatedly polling FLEETA to find out whether something has changed, your application can receive information when an event occurs.

FLEETA can push that event directly to your endpoint, allowing your software to react without continuously checking the platform.

For developers building connected fleet applications, this can make integrations more efficient and responsive.

2. Talk to Your Fleet Data With MCP

APIs are powerful, but not every interaction with fleet data needs to start with code.

That’s why FLEETA has also introduced support for MCP — Model Context Protocol.

With MCP integration, users can connect FLEETA with supported AI assistants and interact with fleet information using natural language.

That includes tools such as:

ChatGPT
Claude
Gemini
Cursor

Instead of opening FLEETA, navigating through different screens, and manually analyzing information, you can ask an AI assistant a question directly.

For example:

“Could you give me the time of day when the most events occur?”

Your AI assistant can query the FLEETA platform and return the answer directly inside the tool you’re already using.

The result is a very different way of working with fleet data.

Rather than adapting your workflow to the software, you can bring FLEETA into the tools and conversations where work is already happening.

From Fleet Data to Connected Fleet Intelligence

These two releases serve different use cases, but they share the same goal.

The FLEETA API gives developers the building blocks to create deeper software integrations.

The MCP integration gives teams a more conversational way to access and work with their fleet information through AI.

Together, they represent an important step toward making fleet data more accessible and useful across an organization.

A developer can use the API to integrate FLEETA into an existing fleet management system.

An operations team can use an AI assistant to ask questions about fleet activity.

And organizations building their own tools can use FLEETA data without forcing users to constantly move between separate platforms.
